MATIENZO CAVES PROJECT
Four Valleys System after summer 2022

Site 0252/4732, Torca la Decepción was linked into the Four Valleys System (at Armageddon and Shrimp Bone Inlet in Cueva Hoyuca) in the summer 2022, to produce a 70km-long network. The surveys of the caves have not corresponded exactly. The reasons could be many, but one possible reason is that some parts of the system have been resurveyed and others are taken from a printed survey.

To allow a better, but temporary, correspondance between Decepción and the connections with Hoyuca.
the 0252-forMap.svx file included in the 4VS survex files after summer 2022 has a *FIX'd station. The files this *FIX affects are

   • 4VALLEYS.3d
   • 4valleys-full.3d
   • 4valleys-lite.3d
   • 4valleys-lite-2023e.3d
   • all.3d

After further resurveying, the caves will, hopefully, link together with minimal corrections and this particular *FIX can be removed.

The stand-alone Survex file for Decepión (0252.3d) has been left unaltered.

For 2023 Easter: Batch 0107-23-04 shows in the wrong place as it is Fix'ed to the unaltered 0107 rather than Equate'd. (Shrimp Bone should be resurveyed to give a station for tying in batch 23-04)

After summer 2023, with the resurvey from Judgement Pitch through Duckham's Sump into Trdient Passages (just beyond "Camp 1"), the whole centre line survey has been re-adjusted to better reflect the truth by Simon Cornhill.
